Privacy notice
Effective October 25, 2026. This notice explains what Solar Bill Tracker (“Solar Bill Tracker,” “we”) collects through solarbilltracker.com and the Solar Bill Tracker app, what we do with it, and your choices. For a short version, see Your data. Our Terms of Use also apply.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16, and the Service is not meant for them.
To prepare your report; to contact you about it; to run, secure, and fix the Service; to answer your questions; to meet legal obligations; and, only if you opt in separately, to send marketing or informational email. We may use de-identified or combined figures (nothing that identifies you or your home) to improve how accurate and clear the reports are. We do not currently use artificial intelligence to read your documents; a person reads them. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use a bill upload or your energy data for advertising.
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Uploaded bills and solar files | 3 years from upload |
| Reports and the figures taken from your files | 5 years |
| Solar production readings from Enphase | While you are enrolled, then deleted with your other data on request or at the end of the periods above |
| Sign-in account | While you are enrolled, then 3 years |
| Backups | Rolling 35 days |
If you ask us to delete, we delete your files, reports, readings, and sign-in account within 30 days, whatever the periods above say. Copies in backups age out within 35 days. We may keep a minimal record that a deletion happened, and anything the law requires us to keep.
You can delete everything you shared, and your sign-in account, from the app at any time, or email legal@solarbilltracker.com. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy, and withdraw your consent. California residents have the right to know, delete, correct, and receive a copy of their personal information, to limit use of sensitive personal information, and not to be treated worse for using these rights. We will confirm it is you (for example by emailing the address on the request) before we act, and we will respond within the time the law sets. You can use an authorized agent. To opt out of marketing email, use the unsubscribe link in any message. We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because we do not track you across sites.
Files are stored privately, are not public, and only you and authorized staff can open them; staff access is logged. Connections are encrypted. Access tokens we hold for solar data are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Enphase, your utility, and other companies have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for them.
We will post updates here with a new effective date, and tell you by email or in the app before a material change applies to information you already gave us.
